Being Mindful
What is this part of Ms. M's website all about?As part of homeroom 117's advisory this year, we will be learning and talking about mindfulness and the huge impact practicing it can have on our lives. I believe this practice can be beneficial to everyone and want to share resources here for all of my students and their families.

What is Mindfulness?Simply put, to be mindful in your every day life is to be actively conscious of the present moment. It's noticing what is going on right now in the present without letting your mind wander to thoughts of the past or of the future. It's a simple concept, but actually much harder than it sounds to put into every day practice (especially in today's crazy world!). The benefits of mindfulness are both mental and physical and it is becoming a more mainstream skill for people to manage the stressors of every day life. I believe teaching my students about this could be extremely beneficial to them as a whole person.
